This volume includes the records and the accounts of the Bible Committee of Warren, R.I. The records (19 leaves), for the period 1857 to 1870, contain minutes of meetings, as well as the results of the visits by Rev. Tobey (e.g., the number of families visited, and their religious affiliation, the number of Bibles bought or donated). After the death of Rev. Tobey in 1858, it wasn't until 1867 that the committee contracted with five ladies of the town to resume the visitations. The volume contains the results of their visits. The accounts (18 leaves), for the period 1857 to 1872, include accounts with committee members, the American Bible Society, and the persons contracted with for visiting families. There are also accountings of the books stored in depositories.

Warren, Bristol County, Rhode Island is located on the east or northeast shore of Narragansett Bay. It was transferred from Massachusetts to Rhode Island in 1746 and incorporated in 1747.
